Identification of Amomi fructus and its adulterants based on ITS2 sequences

Abstract:Objective Identification of Amomi fructus and its adulterants based on ITS2 primary sequence and secondary structure.Method CLUSTALX 1.83 software was used to align the sequences and the length of the aligned sequence was 252 bp.The MEGA4.1 software was used to calculate the K-2P distance between intra-and inter-specific species.The NJ tree was also been built.Result The ITS2 sequence would be used to identify Amomum villosum,Amomum villosum var.xanthioides,Amomum longiligulare and its adulterants,such as Alpinia zerumbet,Alpinia japonica,Amomum tsao-ko etc.Conclusion ITS2 sequence was recommended as barcode to identify Amomi fructus and its adulterants.
