T cell exhaustion is a potential mechanism of sepsis-induced immuno-suppression. The failure to eradicate primary infections and the increased susceptibility of the lung to secondary infection maybe play a critical role in mortality of sepsis. The different effects of boosting the immune system make it important to realize the immune status in indifferent phase and different tissues in sepsis patients. In this review, we try to analyzes the role and the potential signification of T lymphocyte subsets in lung during the development of sepsis, in order to bring a better understanding of the pathophysiological basis of the disorder.
