Abstract:This paper reports the results of detecting antibodyof Rickettsia tsutsugamushi with 303 serum samples collected from inhabitants in A1i prefecture, Tibet. It is shown that l8 samples were 5. 9% sero-positive. There was a significant difference in the sero-positive in five counties. The highest rate of 18. 0% was seen in Gaer county. There was also seropositive rate in sheep, and in a few part of Pulan county with the rate up to 60.0%. These results indicated that there was a possibility of the existence of Rickettsia tsutsugsmushi infection in that area.
