Abstract: | ABSTRACT: A survey was sent to 572 contact lens practitioners in order to ascertain trends in Australian contact lens practice. Replies were obtained from 134 optometrists and 8 ophthalmologists. The results indicate a resurgence of interest in soft lenses, a high usage of toric soft lenses, a dramatic reduction in PMMA usage and an increase in the use of gas permeable lenses. Possible reasons for these apparent trends are discussed. |
