| Abstract: | Objective To provide some methods on verifying indeterminate results in western blot confirmatory testing for HIV antibodies with statistic analysis.Methods 187 indeterminate samples with final results in follow-up visit were gathered and analyzed.Results Positive predictive value (PPV) of gp160 and p24 band were 32.14％ and 18.84％,gp160/p24(both) were 100.00％.Other specific bands couldn't increase the PPV,and non-specific bands predictive negative result.Conclusions Technicians can verify the indeterminate results initially by discriminating the different bands. |
