Irrational fear of AIDS can occur when people suffer from high levels of guilt and shame arising from extramarital sex. Despite negative medical testing of anfi-HIV, the patients can come to acquire an irrational conviction that they have AIDS and fear of infection and death to others, so they maybe commit or attempt to suicide. In this paper,suicidal behavior among AIDS phobia patients and contrast between AIDS phobia and syphilis phobia are reviewed. While AIDS phobia may not be common, and suicide acts based on this symptom complex may not be common, it is helpful for physicians to learn potential suicidal risk among these patients.
