Study on the Integration of Cultivation for Medical Doctoral and Specialty Training

Postgraduate medical education includes graduate education and residency/ specialty training.Medical doctoral and specialty training, the two main types of postgraduate medical education, play a vital role in the cultivation of medical talents.This article proposes that it is feasible to integrate the cultivation for medical doctoral with specialty training based on the following four aspects: the demand for medical clinicians training, the consistency of clinical ability training, policy guarantee and the trial implementation in Shanghai.Meanwhile, it analyzes the possible problems existing in the system and explores the solutions to deal with them, which may provide the basis for perfecting China's postgraduate medical education.
