Treatment of burns during the first trimester of pregnancy by sulfamylon and silver nitrate |

| Abstract: | A patient who suffered 30 per cent third-degree burns about one week after becoming pregnant was treated with Sulfamylon (mafenide) and silver nitrate for 20 weeks until abortion. Pathological examination of the fetus showed no abnormalities, suggesting that Sulfamylon and silver nitrate are safe drugs for the treatment of burns sustained in the first trimester of pregnancy. |
