Diagnosis and surgical mangement of pancreatic toumors in adolescents

Objective To analyze the diagnosis and surgical mangement of pancreatic tumors in adolescents.Methods Twenty-three cases of pancreatic tumors under the age of 20（8~19） between October 2000 and October 2009 were treated in our hospital,the clinical features,pathological findings and survival situation of these patients were retrospectively analyzed.Results All 23 patients had undergone surgical excision,without operative death.All patients were followed-up for 1~112 months（average of 41.7 months）.All patients were alive,and continued to be followed-up.Conclusion The incidence of pancreatic tumors in adolescents is relatively low.These diseases haven＇t specific clinical features.Conventional imaging examination can be able to confirm the diagnosis.Pathology is often a rare type of pancreatic disease,innocuousness or low potential malignancy.The limited surgical resection is effective and safe therapeutic measures for these diseases.
