老年患者房颤并发脑卒中的临床特征及其预后

Study on Stroke Prognosis in Elderly Patients with Atrial Fibrillation

To evaluate the prognosis of stroke in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation, the extent of cerebral infarction neurological deficits score and activities of daily living (ADL) in 25 stroke patients with atrial fibrillation (AF group) and 25 stroke patients with cerebral artery atherosclerosis (control group) were assessed. The results showed that the extent of cerebral infarction was significantly larger in AF group than in control group (P<0.05). The recovery of the neurological deficits and ADL were significantly worse in AF group than in control group (P<0.01 and 0.001, respectively). These findings suggested that the consequences of the stroke associated with AF have a worse prognosis that resulting from cerebral artery atherosclerosis.
