| Abstract: | In recent years,owing to the rapid rise of hospital infections caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA),the research and development of the new antibiotica against resistant bacteria have been extremely implused.Cefttobiprole was the fifth generation cephalosporin antibiotic,which specially designed to bind to the penicillin-resistant targets in Gram-positive cocci,resulting in potent bactericidal activity towards MRSA.Cefttobiprole has shown a low potential to induce resistance in vitro.The structure,newest research status,action mechanism,antibacterial activities and clinical uses of cefttobiprole were overviewed. |
