Role of military emergency mobile medical units in disaster relief system in the area west of the Taiwan Strait

During disasters military emergency mobile medical teams can be dispatched to treat and/or transport the wounded and patients, conduct epidemic prevention, repair and maintain medical equipments, carry out psychological counseling, etc. Compared with the local civil medical institutions, the military health support teams show obvious advantages in rapid response, independent support, environmental adaptation, and field rescue and treatment. For example, the most advanced emergency mobile health support square cabin system can set up a field hospital at county scale with self-support ability capable of treating 300 patients every day and performing operation simultaneously on 4 operation tables within 45 minutes.
