Effects of aciclovir combined with foscarnet sodium on Th1/Th2 cytokines and recurrence prevention in patients with recurrent genital herpes

Objective To investigate the effect of aciclovir combined with foscarnet sodium on Th1/Th2 cytokines in patients with recurrent genital herpes(RGH)and the prevention of recurrence.Methods A total of 138 patients with RGH admitted to Kaizhou District People′s Hospital from June 2016 to October 2018 were selected as the research subjects,and were randomly divided into control group(n=69)and observation group(n=60).The control group was treated with acyclovir while the observation group was treated with acyclovir combined with foscarnet sodium.Life quality and immune function were compared between the two groups,and recurrence times were recorded.Results The cure rate of the observation group was 63.77%,significantly higher than that of the control group(43.48%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The quality of life scale(RGHQoL)scores of recurrent genital herpes in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group after 2 months and 4 months of treatment,with statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment,Th1 and Th1/Th2 in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and Th2 was significantly lower than those in the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).The number of recurrence in the observation group during treatment and follow-up was significantly lower than that in the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions Acyclovir combined with foscarnet sodium can effectively balance the Th1/Th2 in patients with RGH,improve the clinical treatment effect and quality of life of patients,and effectively reduce the recurrence.
