Abstract: | Summary In order to improve dog kidney perfusion in situ with a protective solution, a perfusion catheter was constructed which allowed continuous pressure measurement in the center of the catheter tip during perfusion. Using this catheter, the equilibration of the extracellular space with a protective solution (HTK solution) was found to be pressure dependent. Continuous pressure and resistance control is therefore a prerequisite for reliable organ protection. |
