Diabetic nephropathy is the leading cause of terminal stage renal disease.Early diagnosis and intervention may help reverse kidney damage.Studies have shown that homocysteine levels are one of the risk factors for the development of diabetic nephropathy.At the same time,the MTHFR gene polymorphism easily leads to hyperhomocysteinemia,which can cause a series of diseases.This article will review the research at home and abroad on the relationship between homocysteine level and MTHFR gene and type 2 diabetic nephropathy.
