Abstract: | Fourteen patients with chronic renal failure treated with hemodialysis received intermittent plasmapheresis with the purpose of treating skin pruritus and polyneuropathy. Skin pruritus and polyneuropathy were completely eliminated in 10 patients, the intensity of pruritus could be considerably reduced in 3 patients, and one patient did not respond to the treatment. About half of the procedures were carried out on an outpatient basis. No serious complications mandating the procedure discontinuation were noted. |
