| Abstract: | This is a report on the sudden death of a 4-week-old female infant without external signs of violence. At autopsy the anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary trunk (Bland-White-Garland syndrome) was identified as the possible cause of death. Immunohistochemical investigations revealed fresh cardiac necrosis indicating an acute fatal event. Toxicological analyses were negative. |
