Investigation,Analysis and Countermeasures of Setting up and Management of Temporary Storage of Medical Waste

Objective To understand the current situation of medical waste temporary storage and facilities management,and to provide basis for decision-makers of medical institutions and competent administrative departments to standardize the management of medical waste.Methods To investigate the setting,layout and facilities of 22 temporary storage places of medical waste in 16 public medical institutions above the first level in the city,according to“medical waste management regulations”and“medical waste centralized disposal technical code”,the standardization is analyzed from four aspects,such as site selection,housing,facilities and marking.Results The general survey results of the second and third-grade hospitals were better than those of the first-grade hospitals in terms of location and facility requirements.The logo basically meets the requirements.Conclusion The standard rate of building layout and facilities of temporary storage of medical waste in medical institutions is too low to be set up in a standard way.The decision-makers of hospital infection management should pay enough attention to ensure the safe and effective management of medical waste by strictly following the requirements of relevant documents,standardizing the setting up,increasing the investment in this area,making a reasonable layout and adding necessary equipment and facilities,important ways to prevent leakage and occupational exposure.
