Abstract: | A case of acquired Vitamin D resistant osteo-malacia associated with an inguinal mesenchy-moma is reported. Surgical excision of thetumor led to dramatic recovery of the patient.Pathologically, the tumor is similar to the 7cases previous!y described in the literature. Thisis not an endocrine tumor but it can secrete anectopic hormone resulting in vitamin D resistanthypophosphatemic osteomalacia. Detection ofneurosecretory granules by electron microscopicexamination further confirms the endocrinenature of the tumor. |
