| Abstract: | The mechanism of action and clinical administration of amifostine,a cytoprotective agent are reviewed.It can reduce toxicity associated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy for the treatment of malignancies.It exhibits selective protection in normal organs,but does not reduce the function of killing tumor cell.Therefore,it has a bright future. |
