A various serum types of enterotoxins produced by 58 Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from clinical specimens via.culture on enterotoxigenic media have been identified by both agar immunodiflusion test (AIT) and dot-imrnunobinding assay (DIA). The results showed that the positive percentages detected by both methods were 62.0% (36/58) and 77.5% (45/58) respectively. 24/36 enterotoxigenic strains produced only a single enterotoxin in the AIT, and 34/45 enterotoxigenic strains, produced more types in DIA. It indicates that enterotoxigenesis rate of S.aureus strains isolated from our area is higher, and SEA-producing strains among these are mostly frequent. |
