EXPRESSION OF SOM mRNA IN CHRONIC AT-ROPHIC GASTRITIS DETECTED WITH IN SITU HYBRIDIZATION

应用原位杂交和免疫组织化学技术，对癌前疾病慢性萎缩性胃炎（ＣＡＧ）组织中生长抑素（ｓｏｍａｔｏｓｔａｔｉｎ，ＳＯＭ）ｍＲＮＡ和ＳＯＭ免疫反应性（ｉｍｍｕｎｏｒｅａｃｔｉｖｉｔｙ，ＩＲ）进行了研究。结果显示：ＣＡＧ组织中，ＳＯＭｍＲＮＡ杂交阳性率为５３．８％，杂交阳性信号细胞明显高于正常组织（Ｐ＜０．００１）。ＳＯＭＩＲ高于ＳＯＭｍＲＮＡ原位杂交阳性信号细胞。结果提示：ＳＯＭｍＲＮＡ的表达增高参与ＣＡＧ细胞分裂、分化的内分泌调节。

Expression of Somatostatin mRNA in various differentiated types of gastric carcinoma

So far the relation between the expression of SOM mRNA and gastric carcinoma differtiation are notclear. In this srudy, the SOM mRNA in the normal gastric mucosa, poorly, moderately, and well differentiated carcinomas and signet ring cell carcinoma and SOM immunoreactivity (IR) were detected with in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry technique. The results demonstrated that in comparison with the normal mucosa, the significantly increased expression of SOM mRNA posotive cells was displayed in the gastric carcinomas ( P <0.01). The positive signal cells distributed in a scattered form or aggregated as a mass or a cord, and the positive cells were significantly enhanced in poorly differentiated carcinomas than those in well and moderately differentiated carcinomas ( P <0.001). The resultes of SOM IR by immunohistochemistry was consistent with those by in situ hybridization. The results showed negative correlation between the expression of SOM mRNA and the degree of gastric carcinoma differentiation. It is worth considering that the alteration of the expression of SOM mRNA may play an important role in the process of tumor differentiation.
