Abstract:The contents of 17 free amino acids (FAA) in whole saliva of 35 patients with oral maxillofacial carcinoma (OMC ) and 33 health was measured by using ammo acid analyzer. The results showed that the contents of 17 FAA in OMC group were obviously higher than that in control group (P<0.01); the variations of some FAA's mole ratio in OMC group were also apparent: compared with control group, the mole ratio of Arg, Ser and Cys were increased from 3.86%, 3.72% and 0.68% to 8.55%, 5.54% and 2.33% respectively (P<0.01), G1x, Val, Ile, Leu,Tyr and Phe were decreased from 13.35%, 6.64%, 6.01%, 6.59%, 7.39% and 6.65% to 10.59%, 4.80%, 3.84%, 4.89%, 6.22% and 4.87% respectively (P<0.01~0.05) and the other FAA's mole ratio had no difference (P>0.05). These results indicate that oral maxillotacial carcinoma am result in the elevation of FAA's level and alternation of mole ratio of FAA in whole saliva of patients with OMC.
