Clinical Study on Bushen Yijing Tang Combined with Hormone Replacement Therapyfor Amenorrhea Caused by Premature Ovarian Failure of Liver-Kidney Yin DeficiencyType

Objective:To observe the effect of Bushen Yijing tang combined with hormone replacement therapy for amenorrhea caused by premature ovarian failure of the liver-kidney yin deficiency type.Methods:A total of 90 cases of patients with amenorrhea caused by premature ovarian failure of the liver-kidney yin deficiency type were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,with 45 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with estradiol valerate tablets and progesterone capsules,and the treatment group was additionally treated with Bushen Yijing tang.The duration of one treatment is 21 days,both groups were treated for three courses and followed up for three months or three menstrual cycles.Before and after treatment,the improvement of Chinese medicine syndrome,indexes of endocrine hormones in serum [follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),estradiol(E₂)],and ultrasound indexes of uterus and ovary(sum of length,width and thickness of uterus,endometrial thickness,mean ovarian volume) were observed in the two groups.Clinical effects and the resumption rate of menstruation were compared between the two groups.Results:After treatment,the total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group,higher than that of 77.8% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05).Chinese medicine symptom scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Levels of FSH and LH in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment,and levels of E₂ in serum were increased,differences being significant(P<0.05);levels of FSH and LH in serum in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,and E₂ level was higher,differences being significant(P<0.05).Length,width and thickness of uterus,endometrial thickness,and mean ovarian volume in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the three indexes in the treatment groups were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The therapy of Bushen Yijing tang combined with hormone replacement therapy has a significant curative effect in the treatment of amenorrhea caused by premature ovarian failure,which can effectively regulate levels of serum endocrine hormones,improve the condition of uterine and ovarian atrophy,relieve clinical symptoms and promote the resumption of menstruation.
