Abstract: | Some approaches based on polarization microscopy and stereology are proposed for quantitative evaluation of acute dystrophic and necrotic lesions in the myocardium. It is shown that in sudden death and myocardial infarction the degree III contractures predominate in cardiomyocytes, while lumpy degradation of myofibrils under these conditions is half as often.
