Abstract: | Sweet syndrome or acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis is a recurrent and rare skindisease caused by the release of cytokines, with diverse possible etiologic causes.It presents clinically with polymorphic skin lesions, fever, arthralgia, andperipheral leukocytosis. In general, it is associated with infections, malignancy anddrugs. It usually regresses spontaneously and treatment is primarily to control thebasic disease. The authors report the case of a child of 1 year and 11 months whodeveloped Sweet syndrome. |
