Brief Discussion on the Edema of Diabetic Nephropathy

The edema of diabetic nephropathy is complications as diabetic result of the misdiagnosis and mistreatment. In this article, the edema of TCM has made brief discussion on the mechanism and the development of diabetic nephropathy, dysfunction of the spleen in transport, deficiency of kidney qi combined with the exogenous rheumatism eventually lead to water resistance and blood stasis in arteries and veins which caused resistance in renal collaterals ultimately. Therefore, the treatment of the edema of diabetic nephropathy should be based on syndrome differentiation combined with disease. We should pay more attention to the following several aspects: protecting spleen and kidney, seeking a balance of yin and yang, strengthening the body resistance, eliminating evil and alleviating water. These are fundamental principles for the treatment of the edema of diabetic nephropathy.
