| Abstract: | Purpose:To reveal the relationship between telomerase activity and nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods:69 cases of nasopharyngeal biopsy,diagnosed pathologically,were detected with TRAP(telomeric repeat amplification protocol)for their telomerase activity.Result:The positive rate of telomerase activity was 88.2% in NPC(45/51)and 11.1% in chronic nasopharyng itis tissue(2/18).Two cell lines of NPC,CNE 2 and SUNE,also had telomerase activity detected.Conclusions:Telomerase activity was highly expressed in NPC and the detection of telomerose activity by TRAP may have potential in the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. |
