Expression of interleukin-17A and interleukin-17F in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues and their relationship with patients'clinical characteristics

Objective To investigate the expression of interleukin-17A(IL-17A)and interleukin-17F(IL-17F)in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues and their relationship with patients’clinical characteristics.Method 90 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer,23 cases of borderline ovarian tumor,and 21 cases of benign ovarian tumor were collected,and the expression of IL-17A and IL-17F in the three types of tumor tissues were detected by immunohistochemical staining method.The relationship between the expression of IL-17A and IL-17F and the clinical characteristics of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were analyzed.Result The positive rates of IL-17A and IL-17F in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were higher than those with borderline ovarian tumors or benign ovarian tumors,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive rates of IL-17A and IL-17F in patients with ovarian epithelial cancer with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)staging III-IV,lymph node metastasis,and moderate/poorly differentiated were higher than those with FIGO stage I-II,no lymph node metastasis,and well-differentiated,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The positive rate of IL-17A and IL-17F is higher in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer.Either indicator may be involved in the occurrence and development of epithelial ovarian cancer,and may be used as diagnostic indicators and potential targets for treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer.
