Abstract: | The use of interim dentures provides an easier transition from natural teeth to dentures. The surgical phase is expedited, and patients progress to dentures which are similar in appearance to their natural teeth. There is less apprehension regarding changes in esthetics. Interim dentures are not recommended for all immediate denture situations, but there are instances in which immediate dentures will not meet the needs of a particular patient. Interim dentures enable dentists to provide better care for their patients in a variety of unusual clinical situations. |
