Abstract:
[Objective] To explore the feasibility and safety of ketamine combined with propofol anesthesia in pediat- ric patients undergoing day surgery of ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. [Methods] The anesthesia records of 358 pediatric patients undergoing day surgery of ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology were analyzed retrospectively. Intra- venous infusion of ketamine 2mg/kg and propofol 2mg/kg was used for the induction of anesthesia. The anesthesia was maintained with intermittent intravenous infusion of ketamine 1mg/kg and continuous intravenous infusion of propofol 6 mg/(kg · h). Vital signs and adverse effects before induction(T1 ), after induction(T2 ), in the begin of operation(T3 ) and at the end of operation(T4 ) were analyzed. [Results] After anesthesia induction, HR, SBP and DBP were higher than the baseline( P 〈0.05). However, the difference had no statistical significance among T2-4. Complications included 5 cases of apnea(1.4%), 1 case of glossocoma(0.28%), 2 cases of convulsion(0.56%), 8 cases of nausea and vomit (2.23%) and 4 eases of urticaria(1.12%). [Conclusion] Ketamine combined with propofol can provide complete effects of sedation and analgesia, so it can be safely and effectively used in pediatric day surgery of ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology.
