| Abstract: | Objective To study the expression and significance of somatostatin receptor(SSTR) in recurrent and metastatic breast cancer tissues. MethodsThe expressions of SSTR were detected in the recurrent and metastatic cancer,the adjacent tissues and the normal tissues of 86 patients with breast cancer.These were compared with each other and their primary breast cancer. ResultsThe expression rates of SSTR in recurrent and metastatic cancer tissues were 25.58% and 51.16%,which were higher than those of tissues adjacent to recurrent cancer,tissues adjacent to metastatic cancer and normal tissues(4.65%,2.33%,0%)(P<0.05).The expression rate of SSTR in 86 patients with recurrent and metastatic cancer was 38.37%,which was lower than 70.93% of primary breast cancer(P<0.05). ConclusionThe expressions of SSTR in recurrent and metastatic breast cancer are lower.For these patients,it is necessary to detect the SSTR of the recurrent and metastatic breast cancer tissues before application of the somatostatin and octreotide. |
