Abstract:
Objective To evaluate whether ImmuKnowTM-Cylex test could be used to predict the occurrence of severe pneumonia in kidney transplant recipients.Methods 46 heparinized blood samples were taken from 17 kidney transplant recipients.Cell-mediated immunity(CMI) was assessed by measuring the concentration of ATP released from CD4+T cells following stimulation.One-way ANOVA test were used for analysis of data.Results The mean ATP concentration in the transplant recipients with SP was(187.2±115.15)ng/mL,significantly lower than that before the occurrence of SP(383.47±186.50)ng/mL and that after recovering from SP(427.78±177.43)ng/mL(P<0.05).Conclusion ImmuKown assay is a valuable tool in monitoring immune status in kidney transplant recipients and predicting the occurrence of severe pneumonia.
