Efficacy and safety of aripiprazole combined with sertraline in the treatment of schizophrenia with depression

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole combined with sertraline in the treatment of schizophrenia with depression.Methods 72 cases schizophrenic patients with depression who admitted to our hospital from June 2018 to June 2019 were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number method,the patients were divided into control group and observation group,with 36 cases in each group.The control group was treated with aripiprazole,while the observation group was treated with aripiprazole and sertraline.The clinical effect,PANSS and SANS scores and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared before and after treatment between two groups.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in PANSS and SANS scores between the two groups;after 2 months of treatment,PANSS and SANS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effectiveness of the observation group was 91.67%higher than that of the control group of 69.44%(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups.Conclusion The combination of aripiprazole and sertraline is effective in schizophrenic patients with depression,which can significantly reduce PANSS and SANS scores,and the safety is high.It is worthy of clinical promotion.
