Forty patients with obstructive jaundice were treated with percutaneous transperitoneal puncture cholecystostomy (PC). It is compared with PTBD in respects of success rate, drainage efficacy, and complications. It is found that PC is safe, less traumatic, easy to practise and having less complications. However, this procedure cannot replace PTBD in patients with high level biliary obstruction, occlusion of cystic duct or atrophic gallbladder. |
