it has been demonstrated that good glycemic control maintained throughout pregnancy can reduce maternal and fetal complications in diabetes.Women in gestation have more complicated needs for insulin than other patients due to the biological changes in pregnancy.With the advent of insulin analogs that mimic the physiological secretion of insulin better than regular human insulin which is extensively used currently,the achievement of euglycemia throughout pregnancy has become more attainable.Up to now,the safety and efficacy of short-acting insulin analogs has been demonstrated by many studies.Nevertheless,the safety and efficacy of long-acting insulin analogs still needs to be confirmed via basic and clinical studies notwithstanding less occurrence of nocturnal hypoglycemia.
