Abstract:
Ovarian tumors are estimated to occur in about 1 in 1000 pregnancies; of these, 3% are malignant. Most patients are clinically asymptomatic and the masses are usually detected in a routine abdominal examination during the second trimester of pregnancy. The management of these ovarian masses depends on their etiology and clinical findings. Surgical intervention is required when malignancy is suspected. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is also indicated. Fertility conserving surgery should be attempted.
