Diagnosis and management of disturbed pulmonary gas exchange can be simplified by application of a computer subroutine with detailed information presented in a four-coloured graphical-numerical plot. The fundamentals of this computer program are the O2–CO2-diagram, the iso-shunt-lines and the arterio-venous acid base state. |
