| Abstract: | HIV/AIDS and mental illness co-morbidity have greatly increased the burden of disease on individuals and society, affecting the quality of life of the patients. However, the pathophysiology, mechanism of interaction, adherence,comorbidity model and drug-drug interaction between mental illness and HIV infection are not fully understood, which brings great challenges to intervention, treatment and management. Based on the available evidence, this article reviews the research status of the pathogenesis, disease burden, treatment adherence and drug-drug interaction of people living with HIV/AIDS and mental illness, aiming to increase the understanding of the co-morbidity, and also puts forward the views in order to provide ideas and directions for future research. |
