Research progress of acute pancreatitis in children

In recent years,the incidence of acute pancreatitis(AP)in children has been increasing.AP is a reversible inflammation of the pancreatic parenchyma.The etiology of AP in children is very different from that in adults,however,the burden of disease and its impact on quality of life are also of concern.At present,there is no uniform diagnosis and treatment guidelines for children's AP in China,the standard part of diagnosis and treatment is to follow the standard of adult.Due to the lack of corresponding guidelines,the management of children's AP is still challenging.This article analyzes and summarizes the latest research advances in the definition,pathogenesis,risk factors,diagnosis and treatment of AP in children,and provides clinical pediatricians with AP management ideas so that they can be identified and treated as soon as possible to improve the prognosis.
