MRI manifestations of ganglioglioma

Objective To explore the MRI manifestations of ganglioglioma(GG).Methods The results of plain and enhanced MRI in 17 patients with GG confirmed by surgery and pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Results Among the 17 cases of GG,16 cases were supratentorial,1 case was infratentorial;6 cases were complete solid type,9 cases were cystic solid type,2 cases were cystic type;there was no peritumoral edema or mild and moderate edema in 13 cases,while 4 cases were severe edema.Two cases of cystic type lesions showed low signal on T₁WI and T₂FLAIR and high signal on T₂WI.The enhancement scan of cystic type wall showed no enhancement or slight ring enhancement,and the small nodules of cystic wall showed obvious uniform enhancement.The solid part of 15 cases of non-cystic type lesions showed equal or slightly low signal on T₁WI,high signal on T₂WI,and slightly high signal on T₂FLAIR.There were various ways of enhancement in 17 patients,among them,6 cases showed obvious homogeneous enhancement,11 cases showed nodular or flaky enhancement,mainly mild to moderate enhancement.Conclusion The MRI manifestations of GG have a certain specificity,combined with patient's clinical symptoms and the location of the disease,the diagnostic accuracy of the disease can be improved.
