Abstract: | Summary Thrombocytosis in malignancy is a recognised phenomenon. It can occur before the neoplasm becomes clinically obvious and can imply metastatic disease. This study of 83 patients with over 10 years follow-up from their first presentation with proven malignant melanoma appears to show that there is no association between high platelet counts and the malignancy. |
