Abstract:Objective To evaluate the role of 3D fast imaging employing steady state acquisation (3D-FIESTA)and 3D fat-suppressed spoiled qradient-echo (3D-FSPGR) MR sequence in the diagnosis of neurovascular depression syndrome (NDS). Methods The study was performed on GE 1.5T Signa HD MR system with 3D-FIESTA sequence and 3D- FSPGR sequences. 17 cases with suspected NDS underwent MR scanning in cerebellopontine angle and images were post- processed with multi-planar reconstruction (MPR) and minimum intensity projection (MinIP). Results 13 cases and 15 cases with suspected NDS were detected in 3D-FIESTA and 3D-FSPGR scanning respectively, among whom 5 cases had trigeminal nerves, 7 cases had facial nerve and 3 cases had accessory nerve depressed by adjacent vessels, 11 cases were proved by microvacular decompression surgery. Conclusion 3D-FIESTA sequences and contrast-enhanced 3D-FSPGR sequences can precisely show the relationship of nerve and vessel for NDS, so it helps for imaging diagnosis of NDS.
Keywords:3D-FIESTA  3D-FSPGR
