Abstract: | Spondylitis of the cervical spine is often caused by hematogenous spread; it is a rare complication of trauma. MRI allows a relatively early diagnosis, and bone lesions are clearly revealed by computer tomography. The goal of treatment is to cure the inflammation while preserving the normal anatomical alignment of the cervical spine. When paresis has already developed a surgical intervention must be performed as soon as possible to prevent permanent neurological deficits. |
