摘    要:临床和实验研究均表明铁过载能引起骨质疏松,铁调素(hepcidin)是近年发现的调节体内铁代谢的关键因子,骨形态发生蛋白(bone morphegenetic proteins,BMPs)能上调铁调素的表达,提示BMPs在骨质疏松的恢复中起重要作用。本文对BMPs和铁调素关系的研究进展进行综述,以期为研究铁过载引起的骨质疏松及其治疗提供基础。

Abstract:Currently, a series of clinical and experimental researches have demonstrated that iron overload could lead to osteoporosis. How to cure the osteoporosis induced by iron overload has become a tough problem. After reviewing the literature, we speculate that hepcidin might have potential therapeutic effect on osteoporosis. On the one hand, hepcidin was found to be the key regulator of iron metabolism. On the other hand, recent researches revealed that bone morphegenic proteins (BMPs), which play a key role in the treatment of osteoporosis could enhance the expression of hepcidin. Thus, we focus on the newest advances in the relationship between hepcidin and BMPs in order to lay certain foundation for further research on iron overload-induced osteoporosis.
