The objective of this study is to compare the results of the Long Proximal Femoral Nail versus Short Proximal Femoral Nail in the management of proximal femoral fractures. This is a retrospective study of 124 patients with proximal femoral fracture in adult age group treated with Long Proximal Femoral Nail and Short Proximal Femoral Nail and followed up for minimum period of 6 months at last follow-up. Pain, walking ability, complications, revision surgery, and Harris Hip Score are seen in final follow-up. The conclusion of the study is that complications of Short Proximal Femoral Nail like thigh pain and femoral shaft fracture distal to the nail tips are mostly prevented by the use of Long Proximal Femoral Nail. |
