Abstract:
Hepatitis E is a serious global epidemic,and one of the important public health problems.Hepatitis E virus is an animal-derived single-stranded positive-sense RNA virus,belonging to hepeviridae,which is divided into two genera:Orthohepevirus and Piscihepevirus.There are A,B,C,D 4 species in Orthohepevirus,and only one specie in Piscihepevirus.According to previous studies,hepatitis E virus does not spread across species,but it has been found recently that hepatitis E virus is transmitted to humans through rodents whose role in the transmission and spread of the virus is unclear.This paper reviews the relationship between HEV-A and HEV-C and rodents,thinks about a liver transplant recipient with hepatitis caused by HEV-C infection reported in Hongkong.It is speculated that there may be virus mutation in this transmission,which enhances the infectious power of the virus and obtains the ability of trans-species transmission;hepatitis caused by HEV-C may become a new zoonotic disease.It is suggested that the type,infection rate and spatial distribution of hepatitis E virus infection in rodents should be studied deeply,and the gate of prevention and control of hepatitis E should be moved forward to provide a new idea for scientific and accurate prevention and control of hepatitis E virus.At the same time,rodents are important hosts of animal-derived pathogens.Identifying the presence of hepatitis E virus in rodents is helpful to scientifically evaluate the potential risk of hepatitis E virus transmission through rodents.
