Clinical study of Zhuanggu Guanjie Capsules combined with sodium hyaluronate in treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Objective To investigate the effect of Zhuanggu Guanjie Capsules combined with sodium hyaluronate in treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 95 patients with knee osteoarthritis admitted to Xinxiang First People’s Hospital from May 2016 to November 2019 were selected and divided into the control group(47 cases) and the treatment group(48 cases) according to the number table method. Patients in the control group were given 2 mL Sodium Hyaluronate Injection once a week. Patients in the treatment group were po administered with Zhuanggu Guanjie Capsules on the basis of the control group, 0.9 g/time, twice daily. Both groups were treated continuously for 12 weeks. After treatment, the clinical efficacy was evaluated, and the changes of WOMAC score and serological indexes of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results After treatment, the total clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 89.58%, significantly higher than that in the control group(68.09%, P < 0.05). After treatment, stiffness score, joint pain score, somatic function score and WOMAC total score in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.05). After treatment, the WOMAC scores of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P < 0.05). After treatment, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6 were significantly decreased in the two groups compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05). The inflammatory factors in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Zhuanggu Guanjie Capsules combined with sodium hyaluronate has a positive effect in treatment of knee osteoarthritis, and can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of knee osteoarthritis, and regulate the serum inflammatory factors, which has a certain clinical promotion and application value.
