Pharmaceutical Practice for Treatment of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Osteomyelitis in Children with Augmented Renal Clearance by Clinical Pharmacists

Objective:To probe into the role of clinical pharmacists in the individualized treatment of anti-infection for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)osteomyelitis in children.Methods:Clinical pharmacists participated into the consultation of a case of failure in vancomycin treatment of acute osteomyelitis.Based on the patient’s clinical conditions and relevant examination results,combined with domestic and foreign literature,the causes for the failure of vancomycin treatment were analyzed from the perspective of PK/PD,and the alternative treatment regimen after vancomycin treatment failure was proposed.Results:The treatment regimen suggested by the clinical pharmacists was adopted by the clinicians,the bone and joint infection of the patient was effectively controlled.Conclusion:Clinical pharmacists give full play to the pharmaceutical expertise to guide use of antibiotics in special populations,which can effectively improve the efficacy of antibiotics in clinical treatment.
