Cross-sectional investigation about antipsychotic usage of schizophrenic inpatients

Objective To investigate the antipsychotic usage of schizophrenic inpatients who were in special hospitals at Xi’an area,and to provide reference for clinical rational administration. Methods 300 schizophrenic inpatients were evaluated with questionnaire to investigate status of antipsychotic usage in one day. The patients who came from 3 different grade psychotic special hospitals were checked randomly. Results 78.33% of the patients were treated with mono-pharmacy. 71.46% were treated with untypical antipsychotic;28.54% cases were treated with typical antipsychotic. The subsequence follow usage frequency was quetiapine(36.19%) ,risperdone(14.66%) ,aripiprazole(13.74%) ,clozapine(6.87%) ,and haloperidol injection(6.87%) . Conclusion The antipsychotic usage was reasonable,untypical antipsychotic is the major thetapeutic medicine,the usage frequency of anticholinergic agents was low,and using benzodiazepines should be cautious.
